The Mills Brothers
Originating out of Piqua, Ohio, jazz and pop vocal quartet the Mills Brothers were the first African-American performers to grace a Las Vegas stage. With entertainment is Las Vegas quickly becoming defined by famous figureheads such as Frank Sinatra, Liberache and Elvis, the Mills Brothers strolled into town in perfect four part harmony, dazzling audiences in their own way and opening the door for other African-American performers. Well known for imitating instruments with their voices, the Mills Brother’s serve to remind us of the most important part of Black History Month: Nothing should be taken too seriously, especially if its something you love to do.
